The Silverado EV shares its Ultium platform with the GMC Hummer EV and will be related to the gas Silverado in name only. It’s easier to load and unload big box runs than the bed, and it’s waterproof and secure. The Lightning’s frunk stores 14.1 cubic feet, carries 400 pounds, and doubles as a cooler or power source. Sold in Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims, the Lightning is pretty much the same as the gas F-150 from the crew cab back to the 5-foot-6 bed that carries over so owners can swap accessories between gas and electric models. If it sounds like Tesla intended the Cybertruck to be more capable off-road than a Jeep, quicker than a Porsche, and stronger than all of the best-selling half-ton trucks, well, that's probably not too far-fetched. With a weird wedge shape and a DeLorean-esque stainless-steel shell, the Cybertruck certainly departs from the segment's long-held conventions. Tesla wants people to forget everything they know about pickup trucks.
